Former state Representative Derek Stanford has been appointed to Guy Palumbo’s seat as state Senator for the 1st Legislative District that includes Kirkland, Bothell and Mountlake Terrace.
Palumbo resigned his position to return to employment at Amazon.com.
Members of the Snohomish and King county councils named Bothell City Councilwoman Davina Duerr to replace Stanford in the House. She and Stanford will serve in their new posts through the November 2020 elections.
