Some WR members have scheduled their onsite L&I Consultation and believed it to be an excellent opportunity to discover issues that need to be corrected in their shops. These consultations are provided at no cost to the business, and better yet, there were no citation fees for any would-be infractions. Like many, you’re probably thinking, Wow, that is pretty gutsy, and as the saying goes, letting the fox in the hen house. 

In reality, opening your business up to an L&I consultation is a smart move. It’s a way of having a compliance expert scrutinize your shop in detail and point out what an inspector would be looking for—at no charge and with no citations! At the end of the consultation, you are provided with a list of items to work on with the expectation that you will be correcting any of the findings.

With such positive outcomes experienced by fellow members, it might be the right time to muster up the courage to take the plunge into the “L&I pool.” Again, there is no charge, and their consultant will point out things that need correction.
