WR hires Rose Gundersen as VP of Operations & Retail Services

Washington Retail is pleased to announce the hiring of Rose Gundersen as Vice President of Operations & Retail Services. She will join our team on Monday, March 18.

Rose joins the association with over 25 years in insurance, banking, healthcare and three years as Labor & Industries’ Small Business Liaison Manager.   She is experienced in strategic planning and implementation and has enjoyed success as an entrepreneur in both the private and non-profit sectors.

In her new role, Rose will help create, communicate and implement the association’s vision, mission, and overall direction. She will be responsible for ensuring operational controls and making sure that HR resources are fully implemented while growing member programs and retail services. Rose has a proven track record as a collaborator and strategic leader.

Rose brings a diverse network of relationships from both inside and outside of government. She comes to WR with a working knowledge of our Retrospective Rating insurance program and safety-related grants WR has received from Labor & Industries.

Rose has a B.A. in Business Administration with two focuses:  Information Technology; Business Government and Society; and also has an Executive Juris Doctor. She has been recognized by policymakers and civic organizations for her advocacy work to combat human trafficking and in her state position for supporting small businesses.

Rose replaces Tammie Hetrick, who is relocating to Idaho after a 20-year career with Washington Retail.
