In honor of its 25th anniversary, Washington Retail CEO Renée Sunde has co-authored a commentary on the health benefits of the retail industry’s We Card age verification program.

The Tri City and Everett Herald newspapers have published the piece in recent days.

We Card trains retail employees to request age identification from customers wishing to buy alcohol or smoking products including vaping devices. Sunde co-authored the piece with Jan Gee, President and CEO of the Washington Food Industry Association and Joe Gilliam, President of the Northwest Grocery Association.
