Washington Retail board member Blake Garfield explained to the online news source The Lens last week how the pandemic has caused him to be more creative in operating Bedrooms & More, his Seattle furniture store.

With the shutdown keeping the physical store closed, Garfield said the business has tweaked its website by making it “more geared toward someone being confident to make that purchase online,” which in the past made up less than two percent of total sales.

Garfield added that he’s added personal deliveries to his service to encourage sales while the physical store must remain closed under the governor’s Stay Home Stay Healthy order, currently scheduled through May 31.

The article also quoted Washington Retail CEO Renée Sunde from a press conference that retailers have shown adaptability to the order by learning how to make curbside sales work for them while they wait to reopen from the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
