With the support of more than 600 organizations nationwide, a letter was sent from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to Congress this week supporting the approval of the USMCA.

The letter urges congress to support the U.S. Mexico-Canada Agreement. We believe the USMCA is critical to our economic future because it will help to preserve and strengthen U.S. trade ties to Canada and Mexico.

More than 12 million American jobs depend on trade with Canada and Mexico. They are also the top two export destinations for U.S. small and medium-size businesses.

USMCA will modernize North American trade rules. When NAFTA was negotiated 25 years ago there was no e-commerce; thus, the agreement did not address this sector.

Approval of USMCA will ensure U.S. manufacturers, retailers, farmers, and service providers can continue to access the Canadian and Mexico markets. Passage of USMCA is vital to the business community. We applaud the work of the U.S. Chamber which remains dedicated to making the agreement’s passage a priority in Washington.
