The National Retail Federation has posted a series of videos with small business owners expressing their worries over current and possible future U.S. trade tariffs.

In the videos, business owners explain that tariffs bring several consequences including lower profits, higher prices, lower wages and threatened layoffs. You can watch the videos here.

Washington Retail has joined a national business coalition urging the President and Congress to end the tariffs because of the negative impacts they already have had.

President Trump has announced an extension of the March 1 deadline for the ceasefire in tariffs increases between the U.S. and China. Talks continue to arrive at a solution to trade imbalances between the two nations.

In a separate piece, the online news source of the Business Institute of Washington outlines impacts that the first round of U.S. trade tariffs have had on the state’s agriculture industry including cherry, apple, potato and hay growers. That article is here.
