State issues updates on paid family and medical leave

Employment Security has issued instructions for companies to establish online accounts to comply with the state’s upcoming paid family and medical leave program.

Employers can begin establishing accounts on July 1 of this year.

Under the program, employers have quarterly reporting periods aligned with unemployment insurance reporting periods. Employees will be able to begin making claims on January 1 of next year.
