Some 160 Seattle small businesses have sent a letter to the City Council asking that more law enforcement emphasis be put on repeat crime offenders.

KUOW radio carried a recent story about the appeal from the small business community.

The Alliance for Pioneer Square has been active in communicating its frustration with law enforcement’s record with repeat crime offenders. You can read about its two public safety calls to action here and here.

A report the alliance has prepared on curbing retail crime represents business districts including Pioneer Square, Chinatown/International, SODO, Downtown, Ballard and University.

Washington Retail also invites small businesses to contact John Engber, Director of the Retail Industry Coalition of Seattle, with their concerns about retail crime. You can reach John at 206-850-5517 or [email protected].
