Seattle leads nation in unemployment gains

Seattle led the nation in the annual percentage gain of unemployment in the year ending in March of this year, after a Kirkland fatality from the virus became one of the nation’s first, according to a study by wallethub.com.

Using data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the online site compared changes in unemployment data for 130 cities.

The site factored in metrics including unemployment growth from March 2019 to March of this year and from January of this year to March of this year.
