Seattle City Council delays action on hazard pay repeal until September

In June, Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda introduced legislation to repeal the City’s mandate that grocers pay their employees’ hazard pay of $4 per hour. The Council seemed poised to approve the repeal in August. However, on August 9, growing concerns about the Delta variant led the Council to delay consideration until its September 13 meeting.
