The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and Disability:IN recently recognized several retailers in their 2022 Disability Equality Index for providing their teams with a strong culture of dignity and respect.

The Disability Equality Index is a benchmarking tool scoring companies’ actions toward disability inclusion to serve as the basis for its annual Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion list.

Several WR member retailers scored 100% on the index, including Amazon, CVS Health, Target, Walgreens, and Walmart.

The index report offers several advantages to bringing people with disabilities onboard an organization’s team, which include their unique work skills and perspectives that foster innovation, which is known to improve financial performance. People with disabilities also bring a diversity of thought and ideas that benefit a company’s customers and stakeholders.
