In a survey conducted by WR this past week, members shared their plans related to ramping up their staffing in anticipation of Washington State’s reopening.
Of the survey’s respondents, over 60% planned to hire additional employees to cover their operation’s expected staffing needs to reopen fully. The same percentage of respondents plan to add one to two new hires, while approximately 40% expect their need to be three or more to ramp up their employee base.
Over 80% of members surveyed shared concern about the shortage of qualified applicants, half of which attributed enhanced unemployment benefits as the cause. At the same time, a quarter believed the scarcity was due to candidates changing career paths.
