As part of its Careers in Retail Month promotion next month, Washington Retail is publicizing two important events happening on September 13.

The first is a job fair at Westfield Southcenter mall in Tukwila, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 located in the Macy’s Court. Hiring managers will be on hand for people looking for career opportunities in retail. There is no admission fee.

Retailers wishing to participate in looking for talent should contact Renatta Emerson, Membership & Programs Manager for the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce at [email protected].

Prior to the job fair, a Future of Retail Summit including a panel discussion will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Southcenter hotel in Tukwila. WR CEO Renée Sunde will help lead a panel discussion with industry leaders Lisa Bridge, President of Ben Bridge Jeweler; Jason Dyer, General Manager of Westfield Southcenter; Karen True, Director of Business Community Development for the Alliance for Pioneer Square; and Tamara Marsch, the Southcenter Nordstrom store manager.

The summit will be an ideal event for government leaders, commercial property managers, retailers and others interested in learning about the retail economy.
