Populous cities and counties in Washington State have been provided with nearly $3 billion in federal financial aid to help in recovery from the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
In addition, Governor Inslee has announced that the state will give $300 million of the federal amount to smaller cities and counties that did not qualify for the financial help. According to an analysis by the Washington Research Council, every county will receive at least $250,000 and every city will receive a minimum $25,000.
During a City Council briefing this week, it was reported that Seattle would be receiving about $131.5 million of the $2.9 billion federal aid package known as the CARES Act.
