Seattle’s newest City Councilmember, Sara Nelson, is listening to the pleas of small businesses across the city. Nelson has heard “frustration, anger and, frankly, desperation at what they see as the total breakdown of the social contract when it comes to public safety.” Rising violent crime and property crime are having an enormous impact on retailers, retail employees, and customers across Seattle.
