Hiring slowed nationally in August including a slight slowdown in the growth of the overall economy, the Washington Post reports.
The paper reported that 130,000 were created last month, while the rate of economic growth has slowed from 3% to 2%. It quotes sources who attributed the caution by employers being caused by the prolonged trade war with China that is increasing consumer prices due to new import tariffs from the U.S. and China.
