A summary hearing of the legal challenge against the capital gains income tax will take place today, February 4, 2022, in Douglas County. Should the challenge be successful, the state will likely make its appeal directly to the Washington State Supreme Court.
The issue of capital gains is still uncertain. Yet another income tax, SB 5926, was recently introduced, proposing an income tax of 14% on certain income.
