Facebook has become a powerful tool for businesses interested in increasing web traffic, physical location traffic, and boosting revenue. It enables you to stay relevant, under budget and focused on long- and short-term business goals. Here is a small guide to get you started on your business’s Facebook ads in five easy steps.

*You probably already have a Facebook business page, but if not, it’s easy to create one. Go to https://www.facebook.com/business/ and get started.

  1. Choose What You Want to Achieve

Open your Facebook Page from your computer, look for the button that says Promote and click it. Now, you have to choose what you want your ad to help you do. For example, if you are looking to drive traffic to your business’s physical location, you should use Promote Your Business Locally. If you want people to visit your website, the right option would be Get More Website Visitors.

  1. Add Images and Text

You can either upload your picture, or video, or use the one Facebook might suggest. If uploading your own media, make sure to follow Facebook’s formatting: 1080×1080 works best. For both scenarios, make sure your logo is visible! Then, write the copy for your ad. Keep in mind that the text should be short, catchy, and straightforward.

  1. Create Your Audience

Creating an audience is basically choosing the people you want to reach. You can designate age, location, and detailed targeting. Create different audiences for different purposes. You have the potential to reach people in your local community or a city.

  1. Determine Your Budget

The next step is to determine how long you want your ad to run and how much you’d like to spend—select ranges from weekends to one or two weeks. Then, just pick the method you want to use to pay.

  1. Send it For Approval

Once you complete your ad, Facebook will review it to check that it doesn’t violate its policies. Once it’s approved, it will start running right away!
