Home Depot celebrated the official grand opening of their approximately 1.3 million sq. ft. distribution center in Lacey yesterday. The facility is a significant investment by the company to support growing supply chain demands throughout the region, making it faster and easier to get product to stores and customers.

City of Lacey Mayor and WR board member Andy Ryder, congratulated over 300 employees in the crowd for their hard work and accomplishments. WR’s President and CEO, Renée Sunde, and Mark Johnson, Senior Vice President of Policy & Government Affairs, were in attendance.

Many of the center’s employees were awarded for their outstanding teamwork and leadership. The enthusiasm and cheers throughout the ceremony were a clear demonstration of the pride and camaraderie amongst Home Depot employees and managers.

The state-of-the-art facility’s sheer size was made possible after the City of Lacey eliminated its square-foot cap in 2015, making way for several retail distribution centers in the area.
