A note from our CEO, Renée Sunde
As we gather around our dinner tables to celebrate all we have to be thankful for, I want to pause and wish everyone a healthy and happy Thanksgiving!
The association is hosting our Annual Meeting this coming Tuesday, November 30, at 9:00 AM, and it’s not too late to register for this virtual event.
December 2, the Washington Retail Association Board of Directors will participate in our annual fall Board of Directors meeting in Bellevue, Washington, hosted by Kemper Freeman, Principal Owner of Kemper Development.
In addition to board elections and business, directors will discuss top priority issues as we prepare for the 2022 short legislative session set to start, January 10, 2022.
Public Safety and tackling the serious issue of Retail Crime will be a focus. Joining to discuss initiatives and strategies to unite retailers in Washington State will include our special guests, including Jon Scholes, Downtown Seattle Association President & CEO, Scott Lindsay, Attorney and Public Safety Consultant, and Brad Tower, representing the Public Safety Alliance of Washington.
We will also hear from Representative Steve Kirby, Chair of the Consumer Protection and Business committee, and Minority Leader J.T. Wilcox, who sits on the House Rules Committee on their top priorities.
It’s not too late to join our advocacy efforts and retail workforce initiatives. Help us tell the story by adding your influence at the local and state level as we advocate for the issues most impacting Washington’s retail industry. Make your company’s voice heard and benefit from the many resources available to retailers to help drive down the cost of doing business.
On behalf of the entire WR team, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving as we look forward to a successful 2022.
