The Civic Alliance for a Sound Economy (CASE) and People for Seattle have issued separate endorsements in the November 5 Seattle City Council elections. Washington Retail has endorsed two candidates who survived the August primary election and is planning possible other endorsements in the November general election.

Seven of the council’s nine seats are up for grabs in the general election. Washington Retail is searching for candidates who demonstrate the most support for the retail industry.

So far, candidates Alex Pedersen running in District 4 and Heidi Wills running in District 6 have won WR endorsements. Both are challenging incumbents.

CASE and People for Seattle endorsed the same candidates.

They are Phil Tavel, District 1; Mark Solomon, District 2; Egan Orion, District 3; Alex Pedersen, District 4; incumbent Debora Juarez, District 5; Heidi Wills, District 6; and Jim Pugel, District 7.

Both groups are working to achieve a council more responsive to the public and interested in doing more work to improve transportation, homelessness, economic opportunity and similar issues in Seattle.
