Employment Security has posted an online toolkit to help employers comply with the state’s new paid family and medical leave program.

Employers were to begin collecting premiums from employees on January 1 of this year to prepare for January 1 of 2020, when benefits will be available to employees.

The toolkit explains that employers who did not start collecting premiums on time will not face a penalty. It also notes that employers must give employees notice one pay period in advance before withholding premiums.
