Although reporting Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes is currently optional, employers will be required to report them starting with their fourth quarter 2022 unemployment insurance (UI) tax report. Incorrect code reporting could earn employers a penalty.

To better understand the new reporting requirement and help employers prepare to submit their quarterly tax reports, Employment Security (ESD) is offering free webinars. ESD is currently promoting these webinars in their monthly employer newsletter, but employers can register on their website.
