Halfway through her current term in office, Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan hinted at interest in a run for re-election without committing in a recent interview with reporter Chris Daniels of KING 5 television.
Durkan pointed to next month regarding a possible announcement but was unwilling to say yet whether she has decided to run again.
During the interview, Daniels pointed to Durkan’s accomplishments and struggles as mayor in setting up the question about how the mayor feels about seeking a second, four-year term.
Despite Seattle’s struggle with homelessness, Durkan said she believes the city is safe overall and without getting specific, she said heading forward, several possible new revenue streams would be considered to reduce homelessness.
