Amazon.com Inc. is closing all of its brick-and-mortar bookstores, 4-Star, and Pop Up stores. It’s not giving up on its brick-and-mortar aspirations altogether though. Instead, Amazon is putting its energies into growing its grocery and fashion stores.
Amazon’s grocery stores, which are comprised of its Amazon Fresh, Amazon Go and Whole Foods store brands, have been growing during the pandemic and are being equipped with its cashier-less Just Walk Out technology. Amazon’s newly-launched fashion venture, Amazon Style, will be opening its first location later this year in Los Angeles.
Store closures will be staggered.
