Washington’s new plastics law requires producers of many common single-use plastics to include a minimum amount of recycled material in their products.

Now that the June 15 deadline to register has passed, the Department of Ecology (DOE) has begun conducting quality control verifications while working to bring additional producers into compliance. Registered producers are listed here.

For 2022, producers will pay an annual fee based on the Program Administration Fee formula: Program Admin Fee = Ecology Workload Cost x [(Individual Producer Resin pounds)/(Washington Resin Total Pounds)]

Invoices will be delivered to producers between August 1 and August 15, and payments will be due within 30 days.
