Walmart is looking for small businesses and U.S. manufacturers with shelf-ready, innovative items through Open Call, Walmart’s largest sourcing event for Walmart and Sam’s Club. Open Call is a unique opportunity for selected American entrepreneurs to pitch their product to a merchant from Walmart or Sam’s Club and potentially get their product in the hands of millions of customers. Products must be made, grown, or assembled in the U.S. to be considered for the event.
The product pitches are 30-minute one-on-one meetings to secure deals ranging from a handful of local Walmart stores to supplying hundreds of stores, as well as Sam’s Clubs, Walmart.com, and Walmart Marketplace.
In addition to the pitch meetings, the one-day Open Call program includes a series of breakout sessions designed to inform, empower and encourage business owners of all sizes. Many of the sessions are open to the general public, virtually making the program accessible to more businesses and convenient for them to participate regardless of location.
Before they can apply, interested parties will need to join one of the free Pre-Application Webinars, where they will hear directly from select Walmart Merchants about what they look for at Open Call. Business owners who became Suppliers through this annual event in the past will also be sharing their stories. The webinars will be held this Monday and Tuesday, March 7 and 8. More information about the Open Call event can be found here.
