COVID tests delivered ahead of schedule

If you heard about receiving free COVID tests from the Washington State Department of Health’s SAY YES! COVID TEST website, you’re likely too late. The state ran out of its 650,000 tests less than a day after launching its website. Those who attempted to order masks after the supply was exhausted received a pop-up message stating, “Thank you for your interest in Say Yes! COVID Test. We have had an overwhelming response to the initiative and have already exhausted the limited supply available for home delivery.”

Social media posts indicate that Washington residents weren’t happy that they could not be placed on a waitlist. When stock is eventually replenished, the state will ship up to five tests per household.

However, the good news is that the federal government not only has masks on hand but has begun shipping them ahead of schedule—and quickly. Residents in Western Washington report that they received their four rapid test allotments on Sunday by U.S. Mail, just 48-hours after ordering them from the USPS website. The USPS website states there is a limit of one order per household which will include four rapid antigen COVID-19 tests.
