The Seattle Times wrote a profile story about Marc Dones, the CEO of the Regional Homelessness Authority. Dones was initially hired in 2018 to design the county-wide agency. After the first CEO resigned, King County hired them to run the authority.
Rather than push for new taxes, Dones plans to ask philanthropy and large businesses for $1 billion to purchase bridge housing, including “more hotels, apartments or houses where people can get off the street and stay temporarily until they find more permanent housing.”
