Vancouver retail and service B&O tax now in effect, supports bridge shelter funding

As of January 1, 2026, the City of Vancouver, Washington has implemented a Business and Occupation tax on certain retail sales and retail service businesses operating within city limits. The tax applies to qualifying businesses based on gross receipts and is intended to fund the construction and ongoing operations of a new bridge shelter serving individuals experiencing homelessness.

Businesses may file and pay through Localgov or in person at Vancouver City Hall. Assistance is available through the City’s Business and Occupation Tax team for questions related to filing requirements, payments, or registration by calling 360-487-8410, option 7, or emailing [email protected].
