Free virtual event highlights the outlook for retail and the consumer

The National Retail Federation (NRF) will host a free virtual event, State of Retail and the Consumer, on March 18 at 10 a.m. PST. The one-hour program will examine the health of American consumers, current conditions in the retail industry and the economic forces expected to shape 2026.

The event will include the release of NRF’s annual retail sales forecast, offering a national perspective on expected retail performance in the year ahead. Speakers will also discuss trends in consumer spending and confidence, along with broader economic indicators influencing retail.

Presenters include NRF President and Chief Executive Officer Matthew Shay, Chief Economist Mark Mathews and Vice President of Industry and Consumer Insights Katherine Cullen, who will share data driven insights and analysis.

The virtual briefing is designed to provide timely, accessible information for retailers and stakeholders interested in understanding national consumer and retail trends. Registration is open through NRF, and the event is free to attend.
