I met virtually this week with Marilyn Strickland, candidate for Congressional District 10, during a South Sound Business Roundtable. CD 10 is currently held by Denny Heck who is retiring from Congress and running for the open state Lieutenant Governor position.
I was joined on the call by two WR board members, several chamber executives and small business owners. Marilyn is the former Mayor of Tacoma and former President/CEO of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce. The comments and questions focused on how businesses are responding and recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. We discussed how Congress can help spur the economic revitalization of our state and nation.
We had a good discussion about the needs of businesses and their employees.
