Washington Retail Association’s retro program returns more than $772,000 to members

Washington Retail Association (WR) members participating in the Retail Services Retro program are seeing a significant financial benefit, with more than $772,000 returned to members through the first adjustment for the 2024-2025 plan year.

The Retro program is a safety incentive program designed to help Washington businesses reduce workers’ compensation costs through proactive risk management, safety, and claims strategies. For the first adjustment of the 2024-2025 plan year, participating retail businesses received a 12% adjustment, while participating auto businesses received a 25% adjustment.

In total, $772,325 is being returned to participating members, demonstrating the potential financial value of combining strong workplace safety practices with Retro participation.

Administered by Brown & Brown, a leading global insurance and risk management firm, the program provides participating businesses with personalized risk management services. These include proactive claims management, early return-to-work programs, loss analysis, risk assessments, and safety training.

The program is available exclusively to eligible WR members through Retail Services. By participating, businesses have access to risk professionals and data-driven strategies designed to help reduce workplace injuries, manage claims, and control operational costs.

For Washington retailers operating in a competitive environment, opportunities to improve safety while potentially reducing workers’ compensation costs can have a direct impact on the bottom line.

The latest Retro adjustment is welcome news for participating members and a tangible example of the value available through WR membership.
