It has been a challenging year for Seattle as growing crime and homelessness have persisted.

Last week, KOMO TV took a closer look at these challenges in a graphic 90-minute documentary, Fight for the Soul of Seattle. It explores whether governmental leaders have been too permissive in allowing these ills to fester including their impacts on the city’s retail community. It is a follow up to the station’s Seattle is Dying documentary that debuted in March 2019.

It is strong medicine during the holiday season but thought-provoking, nonetheless. Topics raised in the documentaries are sure to be campaign issues in the City Council and mayoral elections in the fall of 2021.
