Small Business Saturday takes place Nov. 28, encouraging consumers to shop at small businesses during the holiday season. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has co-sponsored the annual observance with American Express since 2011.
The SBA offers resources to help businesses and community organizations participate, including links to free American Express marketing materials such as posters and social media graphics. Consumers can also use online resources to find participating small businesses in their area.
The SBA encourages business associations and community organizations to promote Small Business Saturday through newsletters and member communications. Organizations planning related events are also invited to share their activities with the SBA and recommend local small businesses for potential visits, particularly those with compelling stories, experiencing growth or seeking additional visibility during the holiday season.
