The incident occurred at approximately 6:09 p.m. at Bad Boys Bail Bonds in the 4800 block of Pacific Avenue. According to the Tacoma Police Department, a person approached the business while three employees were inside, placed an explosive device near the front entrance, lit it and walked away.

Investigators are examining the incident for potential felony-level charges related to the use of explosives. The department’s Bomb Squad responded to conduct a post-blast investigation, while forensic personnel processed the scene.
Police are continuing to search for a suspect and are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Tacoma Police Department.
The incident underscores the potential safety risks businesses can face from deliberate acts of property damage, particularly when employees or customers are present. Although no one was injured in this case, the explosion caused substantial damage to the business’s entrance.
