A political action committee calling itself People for Seattle has formed in the name of making the Seattle City Council more responsive to public concerns.
The group’s website says the “City Council has lost its way” and is not sufficiently focused on issues including homelessness, transportation, economic and environmental sustainability, education, public health and neighborhood safety.
Included in the group is former council member and interim mayor Tim Burgess.
Seven of the nine council seats are up for election this year.
People for Seattle has yet to announce endorsements but says its mission is to restore public trust in addressing the most important needs in the city.
