Environmental activist Alex Ramel has been appointed to succeed outgoing Rep. Jeff Morris in the state’s 40th legislative district. It includes San Juan, Skagit and Whatcom counties north of Seattle.
Ramel will serve the remaining year for Morris’ term during which his seat will be up for election. Ramel said he wants to work on funding for affordable housing and supporting transportation infrastructure.
