A new national grassroots campaign has begun through the National Retail Federation for Congress to approve relief legislation for businesses struggling to survive the COVID-19 pandemic. Talks to do so have begun in Congress.

The link outlines priorities including:

  • Authorizing remaining Paycheck Protection Program funds to be available for small businesses
  • Speeding up loan forgiveness flexibility to use PPP funds for fixed costs by small businesses, and deductibility of PPP business expenses
  • Financial stimulus through direct aid to individuals and families, and incentives to encourage a return to work
  • Liability protections to provide certainty for businesses following safe operating guidelines without fear of unwarranted lawsuits
