Drees, a longtime independent gift and home furnishings store in downtown Olympia, is celebrating a milestone for owner Ruthann Goularte: 50 years at Drees. Located at 524 Washington St. SE, the store is known for its distinctive gifts, home décor, seasonal merchandise, and personal service.
For five decades, Goularte has helped make Drees a downtown destination and a part of Olympia’s holiday traditions. Her commitment to the community extends beyond her business. She has been a longtime board member of the Washington Retail Association, contributing her time and leadership to an organization that represents and advocates for retailers across Washington.
Drees will celebrate Goularte’s 50th anniversary during its Holiday Open House on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. Guests are invited to raise a glass to mark the occasion, enjoy traditional holiday refreshments, and experience the store decked out in holiday splendor.
The open house continues Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
